SEMINAR PROGRAM

HOBY’s flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar, is designed to empower high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, and community. The students attending our three day seminar participate in hands-on leadership activities, meet leaders from our state, and explore their personal leadership skills, while learning how to lead others and make a positive impact in the community. During the seminar, they will learn how to lead on three levels – individual, group and societal. They will be able to participate in team building activities and community service and learn how to set their own achievable goals. Every spring, nearly 10,000 high school sophomores from across the country are chosen to represent their high school in HOBY State Leadership Seminars. Students will have a life-changing experience and develop leadership skills which will serve them long into the future!

Registration for the 2018 Massachusetts HOBY Seminar Remains Open!

Our 2018 MA HOBY Seminar will be held June 15 - 17, 2018 at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. Any public or private school is eligible to send students to attend our 2018 seminar. We welcome all! The selection of which sophomores should attend our seminar is at the discretion of each school. Registration is on www.hoby.org. The guaranteed acceptance date has passed, but we will accept registrations as long as we have space available. Introducing Direct Registration!

Starting January 10, 2018, individuals can register directly on the HOBY site! The first step is selecting the seminar you want to attend on the HOBY site, http://www.hoby.org/programs/leadership-seminars/dates-locations. Then you will need to enter the student information and make payment at time of registration. This option will remain open as long as we have capacity at the Bentley University facilities. We welcome all to join us at this life changing seminar!

FORMATION OF THE MA HOBY 2017/2018 SEMINAR PLANNING COMMITTEE

The Seminar Planning Committee for the 2017/2018 program year has been formed. The members of the committee have committed to a major task required for the success of the seminar. They will also be participating in several sub-committees focused on specific goals for the seminar or in support of the seminar. Additional staff members will participate in sub-committees and make major contributions through their work. This structure will allow more opportunities to the staff and alumni to participate in the planning and preparation process! 2017 SEMINAR DVD

You can order a DVD of the 2017 MA HOBY Seminar. Send a check for $25 made payable to MA HOBY to 13 Barbara Jean Street, Grafton, MA 01519. Include your name and mailing address clearly printed. A 2017 seminar DVD will then be sent to you within a week or less.
