Each August, HOBY International proudly recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of its affiliates and volunteers at its 70 sites through volunteer achievement awards.

  • Awards for HOBY Affiliate Corporations - Awards are based upon overall performance and the completion of milestones in the areas of Management, Finance, Program and Public Relations.
  • Awards for Leadership Seminar Chairpersons - Leadership Seminars are evaluated in 6 categories: Seminar Management, Finance/Fundraising, HOBY Service Organizations, Program, Team Leadership and Recruitment.
  • Awards for Alumni Advisors - Alumni Programs are evaluated based upon a point system awarded for Management, Development, and Other Activities.
  • Awards for Directors of Recruitment - Awards for the Directors of Recruitment are given to those seminars that achieve 100% of their student recruitment goal for the year.

For the 2011/2012 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for each of the above four categories. For the sixth year in a row, MA HOBY was the only site in the nation to accomplish this achievement!

MA HOBY’s Gail Elmore was also recognized for the CLeW she directed.

Ma HOBY was recognized for participating in a pilot program for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

For the 2010/2011 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for each of the above four categories. For the fifth year in a row, MA HOBY was the only site in the nation to accomplish this achievement!

MA HOBY’s Nick Grasso was also recognized for the two CLeWs he directed.

Ma HOBY was recognized for participating in a pilot program for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

We are very proud of the dedicated volunteers who continually push MA HOBY forward and bring the positive HOBY message to the youth in our state!

For the 2009/2010 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for each of the above four categories. For the fourth year in a row, MA HOBY was the only site in the nation to accomplish this achievement!

MA HOBY’s Irene Money was also recognized for the CLeW she directed with the help of Taylor Hunt and Meredith Clark.

For the 2008/2009 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for each of the four award categories. For the third year in a row, MA HOBY was the only site in the nation to accomplish this achievement!

For the 2007/2008 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for each of the four award categories. For the second year in a row, MA HOBY was the only site in the nation to accomplish this achievement!

For the 2006/2007 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for each of the four award categories. For the first year, MA HOBY was the only site in the nation to accomplish this achievement!

For the 2005/2006 Program Year Massachusetts earned the highest level, OUTSTANDING, award for three award categories.
